Time of day to film notes
Indoors Shots
In our OTS we had many different symbolic shots which required different settings to show how sinister some of them were. As this person was having a dream, the times of day had to be fairly random. To do this, we filmed many shots indoors as many of the locations didn't require a dark setting as the shots need to be visible and not completely dark. For the shots which required a darker setting we filmed in dark locations where the walls, floor and ceiling were painted black. This gave the audience an idea that sinister acts were about to happen.
Outdoor shots
Many of the outdoor shots needed to be filmed at night. This was made easy during the winter months because of shorter days. Furthermore, the killer needed to be hidden within the darkness, in which the night provided the perfect setting. This shows the audience that even a walk with your dog can lead to something scary and murderous.
