Location choices and pictures
Dark Rooms
Our OTS required many dark and ominous locations to make the symbolic shots more menacing. To do this we used locations such as the back of a stage and drama rooms because the walls, floors and ceilings were painted black which added to the eerie look and feel of it all. This provided a good setting to show the audience the symbolism and how it provided the dream sense that we wanted to prevail. Dark rooms also consolidate the eerie atmosphere. Furthermore, dark rooms can also hide a lot which means there is more than you can see hiding in the darkness.
The House, paths and park
For the linear section we used a the living room which is where the protagonist wakes up. This is when the audience realises it's a dream and the location of the house shows this. Furthermore, it shows that it's the safe location giving the audience the impression that she's safe now. She then proceeds to a park along a path. Both these locations give the impression that somewhere that could be considered safe in the day is turned into a disturbing place by night. The park alone gives an eerie feel which provides a dark and scary setting.
