QUESTION 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression of making your full product?

This comparison clearly demonstrates how we have developed our media skills from filming at the beginning of the course to where we ended filming our final opening title sequence. Our full product was better quality with steadier shots and more technical elements applied in editing. It shows how we have progressed as we expanded from a school setting to more interesting locations that were better suited to film a horror. Our prelim video did not take as long to film due to filming at a single location but we had not yet begun to experiment with the horror genre. We improved in our final product by going out in the dark hours of the night to film what felt more like a setting for a horror movie.
In our prelim we did not have any production titles which means the video didn't convey that professional standard we needed. As our final product was a opening title sequence, we required opening titles. We made our own production and distribution company logos and put them at the start to represent the organisations associated with the film. No sound was edited or put in our prelim including music which played an important part in our OTS. The dialogue in our prelim was also mainly improvised and so may have diverted from our original plan.

To conclude, this summary table shows us that we have significantly improved since making the prelim at the beginning of the year. Our skills have progressed throughout the course of production, and we have learned from comparing these two videos what is crucial to making sure our final product is a success.
